George Yonemori, writer

George Yonemori is an award-winning poet, author, and mentor from Scarborough, Ontario. The Toronto Public Library, the TCTE Short Fiction Contest, Scarborough Fair, the Toronto Ward Museum, and the Royal Ontario Museum have published his poems and short stories. His poetry was featured in Scarborough Arts' annual exhibition at Cedar Ridge Creative Centre, where his work received an award from esteemed interdisciplinary artist Rodney Diverlus. He co-runs the non-profit organization Stay Golden Outreach, which Global News featured in February 2024. Stay Golden hosts free creative writing workshops for teenagers.
