Cadence Edgcumbe
Cadence Edgcumbe, artist
My name is Cadence Edgcumbe, I’m eighteen, and I didn’t have what you might call “a traditional upbringing”. I have a pretty big family, and I’ve been homeschooled since I was pretty small. When i was fourteen, my parents moved us onto a sailboat, where we lived for almost 3 years, exploring the Caribbean. During that time we visited seventeen countries, met locals, and experienced nature like never before. While setting out on that adventure was thrilling, it did present some unique challenges from an artistic point of view. Isolated as we were, I didn’t have access to art supplies. So I ended up supplementing and experimenting until I had an effect I was proud of.
