Sahil Alurkar, photographer
Sahil Alurkar came to Toronto to pursue a career as an exploration geologist in the mining industry. He began photography around the age of 15, armed with a 3.2 MP Canon point and shoot camera . He now uses a Canon 60D with 50 mm 1.8 lens amongst few others. The Art of Photography, a YouTube channel has been a major source of inspiration and learning for him. Sahil believes in using minimalist gear, with a stronger focus on the feel of an image. Access to a garden full of unique flowers curated by his mother, Sahil spent hours clicking. This has greatly shaped his interests. Primarily a still life, product, and abstract photographer, Sahil also does some street photography. The city of Toronto offers a plethora of interesting subjects to shoot. He displays his work on his website and Instagram page.
