Cinematic Disruptions: Asian Diasporic Communities in Motion

Come explore a recently opened online exhibit, Cinematic Disruptions: Asian Diasporic Communities in Motion

Produced by independent curator Yang Lim, this exhibition features works from eleven creators that explore Asian perspectives and experiences in cinematic form. Cinematic Disruptions: Asian Diasporic Communities in Motion aims to broaden the conversation around “Asian-ness” and complicate what it means to be part of the Asian diaspora. It features eleven creators of Asian heritage who work with the film and video mediums. Encompassing a variety of genres, narrative styles, and aesthetic techniques, their works convey diverse and complex representations of Asian diasporic communities’ experiences that complicate existing representations in mainstream and popular culture. Enjoy this online multimedia exhibit from January 26th to March 11th!

This exhibition is funded with support from the Edmonton Arts Council and the City of Edmonton.
